This piece is a hand-pressed original two-color linocut block print made with high quality black Caligo and red Charbonnel inks. You will receive a 12" x 18" signed and titled work of art (inked area 8.75" x 11.75"). Each print is one-of-a-kind with small variations due to the nature of hand inking and printing. The words are a quote from George Orwell's dystopian (all too-real) fiction novel "1984": "The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command."

In the words of Paul Robeson, "Artists are the gatekeepers of truth. We are civilization's radical voice." When faced with the tragedy of Renee Good's murder and the detestable lies spewed by the powers that be when I, and so may others, witnessed the event with our own eyes, I felt called to carve this Orwellian quote.
