What is block printing?

Block printing is a traditional art technique by which a sketch or drawing is applied to a carvable material. The artist then chooses which parts of the image will be printed or not by removing what will become white space using carving tools. After the carving process, ink is applied to the carved block with a brayer, and a printable material (usually paper of cloth) is applied over the inked block. At Mossy Path Studio, I hand-press every piece which allows for special attention to detail and also creates a truly one-of a kind print, each print different from the rest.

What materials do you use for block printing?

I carve my sketches into Linoleum, Silicone, and Rubber.

Why does my print look different from the item photo?

Because I hand-press each print, every one will have slight differences from the next, creating a truly one-of-a-kind piece!

How are your shipping rates calculated?

Shipping is calculated based on the weight of the items in your order.

How do you ship your orders?

Large prints are shipped within a plastic sleeve and rolled into in a sturdy cardboard mailer. Smaller prints and stickers will ship in flat mailers while bulkier items and mixed orders will ship in a cardboard box. I use the USPS for shipping within the United States of America. Each order is carefully packed to protect every piece within.
